Photography Workshops
What do we do?
FAQs
Phocaccia.com is an institute where the finest image-making artists meet and make their knowledge available to you, independent on the level of skill you're at, whether you are a serious Photography enthusiast, or a professional honing its skills.

Phocaccia.com is also an online gallery of The Phocaccia Photography Institute, an organization dedicated to the promotion of emerging artists. We offer the work of a number of photographers, mostly printed on beautiful, high-quality canvas (Giclée) prints.

These type of prints are extremely beautiful and will please the most demanding taste. The materials and the process utilized are archival quality, so we guarantee that prints will not fade or lose their beautiful quality.

Phocaccia.com allows you to chose from a large collection of original, limited-edition images and have the print delivered to your home. Prints are sent rolled-up and they come with a limited warranty and a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the author of the image.

High quality canvas stretchers are also available if you decide to do it yourself, or you can chose to have the images stretched at your preferred, local framing shop.

We are constantly adding items to our collection. If you are a professional fine-art photographer, we will be pleased to have your images featured as well.

What's in a name?
Focaccia the well-known Italian flatbread, is baked dough topped with olive oil and a simple herb like rosemary or sage, and salted with coarse salt. The word is derived from the Latin focus meaning “center” and also “fireplace” – the fireplace being in the center of the house. Phocaccia is a word play with Photography and Focaccia, placing Photography at the center of your life.

How does Phocaccia compare to stock photography?
Photographer's FAQs
Phocaccia.com is different from stock in a number of ways.
First, we are a the on-line gallery of a non-for-profit organization, The Phocaccia Foundation, whose first and foremost objective is to promote the use of photographs as art.

Next, we cater to a different public. Stock photography usually sells to Graphics or Web Designers, Magazines, etc. We focus on decorating professionals and consumers decorating homes and offices. Our relationship with our customers is more intimate and one-to-one.

At Phocaccia.com you sell individual photographs, not the right to use them for printing, etc. Usually, in stock photography, you get a large percentage of the sale (more than 50%) but the buyer gets the rights and might be using your photo for printing thousands of brochures or magazines (1/2 a million in many cases).

At Phocaccia you get a relatively smaller commission out of EACH print and we still take care of all the process, so the incremental work for you is minimal.

Let's say a decorator is purchasing 600 photos for the 600 rooms in a hotel, and 100 of them are based on one of your images. You will get paid 100 times! More than working for a fee, you are participating in the business, with no risk.

Last, but not least, The Phocaccia Foundation was founded by a fellow fine-art photographer who knows first-hand the challenges of selling photographic art and has experienced all the barriers of entry posed for the individual photographer.

Does Phocaccia.com take care of all the printing process?
Photographer's FAQs
Once you have uploaded your material without errors, we take care of the rest of the process. We publish your photos on our website, promote them and sell them.

We take care of the transaction, process credit cards and collect the sale proceeds. After this is completed we print the artwork on high-quality Artist's Canvas and ship to the customer.

Everything is taken care of. We deduct only the printing expenses and a small portion for our marketing  efforts and handling. The rest is rightfully the artist's.

Collectors can also chose to purchase high quality canvas stretchers for the canvas on the website or take the print to the local framing shop.
