Food PhotographyGet engaged in the whole experience of creating images of food. Do street photography and go with us shopping to the market. See how the dishes are prepared and learn to create stunning and mouthwatering images of them.

This workshop is led on the culinary side by Chef Jorge Fernandez. He has taken his traditional culinary art throughout Spain, France, England, Amsterdam, Canary Islands, the Caribbean, and the United States presenting his delicious Specialty Paellas and other mouth watering Spanish tapas.
Leader instructor Huba Rostonics, a Photographer and Blogger with decades of experience behind the lens as well as teaching will be your host throughout the class.

Chef Jorge Luis FernandezLet Chef Jorge Fernandez take you on a culinary journey traversing the rich, flavorful regions of the Iberian Peninsula.
We will accompany Jorge on his quest of the perfect fish and colorful vegetables to cook the perfect dish. We will then return to Jorge's restaurant and we will participate in the preparation of the dishes. Finally, we will get to craft images off these plates and we will taste them.



Day one:

Day two:

I.- Street photography. Go shopping with Chef Jorge Fernandez.

II.- Lunch lecture. The Still Life, composing the shot, consider the object, the concept of the "tablescape".

III.- Tungsten Lighting vs. Strobe Lighting

IV.- The kitchen.

V.- Group dinner.

VI.- The pier, street photography.

VII.- Design principles and how they apply to setting plates.

VIII.- "Cropped" - assignment

IX.- Photo critique.

X.- Tapas and wine

Commitment: Workshop runs for the weekend from 8:30 until 5:00 PM. Lunch is offered and included in the fee. Bring your own camera, memory cards, tripod and shutter release. Choice of lenses is from wide angle (35mm equivalent 24) to a medium telephoto (70mm).
